VANCOUVER, BC (November 4, 2026) - The Northern Super League (NSL) announced on Thursday that Vancouver Rise FC forward Jessica De Filippo and defender Tori Tumeth have been voted to the 2026 NSL Team of the Season.
“Having Tori and Jess named to the Team of the Year is a great achievement for both players,” said Chief Soccer Officer, Robyn Gayle. “They have each had a strong season, influencing games both in and out of possession and making a consistent impact from their respective positions. Tori has been relentless in her defensive work and consistent in her performances at the back, while also stepping up as captain on the pitch during periods when we were without other key leaders. Jess has continued to elevate her performances this season, something reflected in both her overall impact and the numbers she has produced. We're proud to see both recognized for their contributions throughout the season.”
De Filippo, 25, finished as the league’s top scorer, scoring 13 goals and registering four assists across 25 regular season matches. The striker was also the recipient of the 2026 NSL Forward of the Year as voted by her peers, leading the regular season in headed goals (3), big chances scored (10) and big chances converted (52.6%) for her position.
Tumeth, 25, is selected after joining Rise FC in late April, making her debut off the bench against Montreal Roses FC on May 2. The defender then went on to play all 90 minutes in 23 of 24 available regular season matches at the heart of defence, missing just one match due to suspension. Tumeth also stepped up as vocal leader for the team shortly after arriving, and was selected as acting captain for 15 matches.
De Filippo, Tumeth and Rise FC now turn their attention to the NSL Playoffs, as they hope to overturn a 3-0 deficit in Montreal this weekend against Montreal Roses FC on Sunday, November 8 at 2 p.m. PCT, live on TSN. Fans are invited to the club’s Watch Party at Good Co. Granville, with reservations available at goodcobars.com.
