VANCOUVER, BC (November 4, 2026) - The Northern Super League (NSL) announced on Wednesday that Vancouver Rise FC forward Jessica De Filippo has been voted 2026 NSL Forward of the Year.
“Winning Forward of the Year and the Golden Boot is an incredible achievement and a reflection of Jess' attacking quality and ability to make a difference in front of goal,” said Rise FC Chief Soccer Officer, Robyn Gayle. “She has a natural instinct for finding the back of the net, and works tirelessly to help our attack, so this recognition is well deserved.”
De Filippo has had a career year in 2026, scoring 13 goals and registering 4 assists in 25 regular season matches. The Montreal native opened her scoring account in a 2-1 win over Halifax Tides FC on May 18, netting Rise FC’s first of the match. The forward then began hitting her stride in early summer, registering three goal involvements in four matches from June 14 to July 4.
She later stormed up the scoring charts when she scored five goals in as many games from mid-July to mid-August, including back-to-back braces against Calgary Wild FC on August 8 and Halifax Tides FC on August 15, which earned her the NSL August Player of the Month award, presented by DoorDash.
By fall, De Filippo was the clear front runner for the award as she scored four goals and registered two assists to put her clear at the top of the scoring charts with 13 goals, earning her the NSL Golden Boot and helping Rise FC clinch the fourth and final playoff spot.
De Filippo and Rise FC now turn their attention to the NSL Playoffs, as they hope to overturn a 3-0 deficit in Montreal this weekend against Montreal Roses FC on Sunday, November 8 at 2 p.m. PCT, live on TSN. Fans are invited to the club’s Watch Party at Good Co. Granville, with reservations available at goodcobars.com.
