OPENING THE SERIES
After facing every other team in the NSL multiple times already this season, Vancouver Rise FC will play Calgary Wild FC for the first time in 2026. The two sides played to an even record of 2W-2L-1D in 2025, including a victory for Rise FC in the first ever NSL match at BC Place to open the inaugural season. However, Calgary won both previous matchups at McMahon Stadium. Rise FC will be looking to make club history with their first result in Alberta this weekend.

EVERY POINT COUNTS
It’s still early in the season with only 10 of 25 matches played so far, but every point counts to make the playoffs in the ultra competitive NSL. Rise FC currently sit four points behind Halifax Tides FC for the fourth and final playoff spot, and will be looking to make up ground in the chase to defend their league title as Diana B. Matheson Cup champions.

IT TAKES A TEAM
It’s been a tough start for Rise FC, not yet having the ability to field a full-strength squad. That challenge has been even tougher of late, with as many as eight players unavailable last match in Montreal, including both co-captains in centre back Shannon Woeller and midfielder Quinn. Most recently, star centre back Jessika Cowart suffered a broken collarbone, with the timeline for her return to be determined. But that won’t deter Rise FC, as they focus a full-team effort on charging back into the win column.
