VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Rise FC are gearing up for their third consecutive road game, traveling from coast to coast to battle Halifax Tides FC in their first meeting of the season.

UNDEFEATED AT WANDERERS: Traveling away from home is never easy, but Rise FC have made it a habit of getting points at Wanderers Grounds after going undefeated last season in Halifax. In the three meetings between the teams out east, Rise FC have won one, tied two, collected two clean sheets and outscored the home team seven to one. The highlight match was Rise FC’s stunning 6-0 win on July 19th, the game that many see as the turning points for Rise FC as it began their eight match unbeaten streak, rocketing them up the table. Rise FC will be hoping the same can happen on Monday as they search for their first points of the season.

CONSISTENCY IS KEY: While it hasn’t been the easiest of starts to the season for Rise FC, the team has shown in periods that they can be one of the most threatening sides in the NSL. Periods such as when they were leading 2-1 against AFC Toronto halfway through the match and also at the start of both halves in their most recent defeat to Ottawa Rapid FC. What Rise FC need now is some consistency across the matches, as captain Quinn noted after their last match. “I think we just need to go back to the basics, be good in possession, and to have longer stretches of play”. Luckily, the season is still early so Rise FC have time to build momentum and consistency, and get back to that championship-winning form.

THAT FRANCOIS FEELING: Rise FC fans have gotten to see all of the clubs newest signings so far this season, except for one: Audrey Francois. Francois, 22, joins up with Rise FC this week after finishing her final year at Harvard University. The dynamic forward made 65 appearances and started 31 games for the Crimson, scoring eight goals and registering eight assists. Now finished with her studies, Francois will be looking to settle into her new surroundings and provide fresh energy to Rise FC, in what could be a potential breakout year for the young Canadian.
