VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Rise FC is heading into their biggest match of the season, hosting Ottawa Rapid FC at Swangard Stadium in the first leg of the NSL Playoffs Semi-Final presented by Toyota.

PLAYOFF TIME!: Rise FC are on the verge of making history , hosting the first leg of the inaugural NSL Playoff Semi-Final against Ottawa Rapid FC at Swangard Stadium on Tuesday. Rise FC have had some fantastic matchups with Ottawa Rapid FC across the season, with high scorelines, late goals and plenty of drama. Incredibly, these teams finished the regular season with an equal record of 2W-2L-1D, meaning both teams will need to be razor-sharp to edge the win!

Now, Rise FC will be wanting to use everything they’ve learned across those five matches, and put it towards this do-or-die tie in the semi finals of the NSL Playoffs.

SWANGARD SWANSONG: Rise FC’s upcoming playoff match at Swangard will not only be the club’s first-ever playoff match, but it will also be the last match the team play at home for 2025, making the occasion all the more special. Fans will be able to experience fireworks before kick-off, thundersticks and rally towel handouts, Thomas Müller doing the coin toss, a halftime shooting contest sponsored by DoorDash and even a special appearance from the league’s founder, Diana Matheson!

Eagle-eyed attendees might also spot some familiar Vancouver faces, with players from Vancouver FC, PWHL Vancouver and Vancouver Whitecaps FC all in attendance for this momentous event!

THE ROAD TO THE FINAL BEGINS: Rise FC are just days away from kicking off their playoff campaign, with their eyes firmly set on lifting the inaugural Diana B. Matheson Cup at the NSL Playoff Final presented by Toyota on November 15th. But before that dream can become reality, they’ll need to get through Ottawa Rapid FC in a two-leg semi-final showdown.

The series begins at Swangard Stadium on November 4th before shifting to TD Place on November 8th, with the winner decided by the total aggregate score across both matches as away goals don’t count. If the series is tied after the second leg, the teams will play two full 15-minute periods of extra time, followed, if still level, by a penalty shootout. The path to the final starts here, and every goal will be crucial!
