VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Rise FC have officially arrived – and are hungry for more!
On Thursday, July 24th, Rise FC will have their chance to keep the good times rolling against AFC Toronto at the inaugural ‘Bark at the Park’ match presented by TELUS. Coming off the back of a historic win on the weekend, Rise FC will be chomping at the bit to get one over their Ontario rivals.
HISTORY MADE: Rise FC capped off their road trip in spectacular fashion, demolishing Halifax Tides FC 6-0 in a record-breaking victory in Northern Super League (NSL) history. Holly Ward stole the show with her first two goals for the club, scoring just 90 seconds into the first half and six seconds into the second. Quinn dazzled with a long-range strike and two assists, while Morgan McAslan preserved her fourth clean sheet of the season with a stunning double save. Shannon Woeller, meanwhile, became the first Rise outfield player to log 1,000 minutes, and celebrated with her first assist.
With this victory, Rise FC now holds the record for the largest winning scoreline in Northern Super League (NSL) history, as well as scoring the most goals for one team in a match and most goals scored in a match (6).
TOP OF THE TABLE TUSSLE: Rise FC now have a chance to close the gap on league leaders AFC Toronto, who sit 10 points ahead (25 points) but have played an extra match. A win could cut the deficit to just four points, depending on other results. The last meeting between these sides ended in a tight 3-2 defeat for Rise FC at Swangard, but with confidence soaring after their 6-0 rout, the stage is set for redemption!
BARK AT THE PARK!: Thursday’s match will also be Rise FC’s very first ‘Bark at the Park’ match, presented by TELUS! Fans will be able to bring their dogs to the match and cheer on the team! Fans who would like to be accompanied by their furry friends can do so by purchasing their very own ‘Puppy Passes’, where they can have their pups sit on their laps or even in a seat beside them! There will also be ‘Pup-Free’ zones for fans who want to enjoy the match the classic way. For tickets and more information, see https://www.vanrisefc.com/bark-at-the-park
