VANCOUVER, BC (May 29, 2026) - Vancouver Rise FC defender Jessika Cowart has been called up to the Philippines Women’s National Team for their upcoming training camp in the United States.
The Philippines will be facing NWSL’s San Diego Wave on June 4 and NISA side Albion San Diego on June 9 in San Diego, California, as the team prepares for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
Cowart, 26, most recently celebrated her 50th cap for the Philippines at the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup this past winter. The Filipinas qualified for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup after defeating Uzbekistan 2-0 in the play-off match. Cowart started in every match for the Philippines in the competition, as the team also qualified for the 2028 AFC Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament ahead of the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, by virtue of being quarter-finalists. Cowart has played every minute for Rise FC so far this season, being a staple at centre-back for the team.
