VANCOUVER, BC (August 16, 2025) – Vancouver Rise FC announced on Saturday that the club has signed Canadian midfielder Anna Bout.

“We’re excited to welcome Anna Bout to Vancouver Rise FC,” said Interim Sporting Director  Robyn Gayle. “She is a talented player whose skill and mentality reflect exactly what we value in our club. This signing reflects the quality and importance of our league as we bring top Canadian players home to play professionally.”

Bout, 24, joins from Denmark’s top flight, having played for Odense Boldklub Q in the 2024/25 Kvindeligaen season. The midfielder started every match she played in for Odense, scoring two goals and registering seven assists in 24 matches as the Danish club finished fourth in the table.

“I’m super excited to be signing for Vancouver Rise FC”, said Bout on joining the club. “I’m really grateful to be here and to be back in Canada, and I’m pumped to be a part of this inaugural season for the club.”

Prior to joining Odense, Bout played five years at the collegiate level in the United States, playing exclusively for the University of Pittsburgh. Over the course of her collegiate career, Bout played 97 games, starting 72 and amassed eight goals and 18 assists in 6207 minutes. During her last year, the Cambridge, Ontario native played a crucial role for the Pittsburgh Panthers, helping the team reach the semi-final of the ACC Championship and the NCAA Elite Eight for the first time in program history. She was also named to the All-ACC Academic Team in 2022 and 2023.

“We are very happy to include Anna [Bout] into our squad,” said Rise FC Head Coach Anja Heiner-Møller. “Anna is a forward-thinking offensive player and she comes with experience from a tactical environment in Denmark that fits very well with our team. We are looking forward to seeing Anna in action.”

In her youth, Bout spent her high school days at St. Johns-Kilmarnock School in Breslau near Waterloo, Ontario, and was a multi-sport athlete having participated in field hockey and track and field alongside soccer. She was captain of her soccer team for all three seasons and played for Team Ontario in the Ontario Provincial Development League, winning the OPDL Cup Championship.
