VANCOUVER, BC (September 18, 2026) - Vancouver Rise FC announced on Friday that the club has extended the contract of Canadian forward and Northern Super League (NSL) Player of the Year contender Jessica De Filippo through the 2027 NSL season.
“Jessica was one of the first players that we brought in prior to the inaugural NSL season,” said Stephanie Labbé, Rise FC sporting director. “We have always had strong belief in her abilities, and it’s been great to see her grow and develop into one of the NSL’s top players. We know that Jessica has big ambitions for her career and we look forward to continuing to help her achieve them.”

So far in 2026, De Filippo has had a breakout season with Rise FC. The Montreal native has been one of the league’s deadliest strikers, recording an NSL-high 14 goal contributions, scoring a league-high 11 goals, and registering four assists in just 20 games, starting 18 of them. The NSL Forward of the Year frontrunner has come up clutch throughout the season, scoring game winners against Montreal Roses FC on May 30 and against Halifax Tides FC on August 15 in the final moments, as well as a last-gasp game-tying goal against Calgary Wild FC on August 29.
De Filippo’s five goals and two assists in August earned her the NSL August Player of the Month award, presented by DoorDash. That run also saw her record six goal contributions in three matches, including back-to-back braces against Calgary Wild FC on August 8 and Halifax Tides FC on August 15, in addition to a brace of assists on August 22 against Rapid FC.
At the international level, De Filippo helped Canada to a fourth place finish at the 2018 FIFA U-17 World Cup, and earned her first call-up to Canada’s senior women’s national team in October 2019.
