Chantelle Swaby is a 28-year-old Jamaican international defender joining Vancouver Rise FC after two seasons with Leicester City W.F.C. in the English Women’s Super League, where she topped the squad in blocks and clearances last season. The 5-foot-11 West Hartford, Connecticut native began her professional career in the NWSL with Sky Blue FC/Gotham FC before winning an undefeated Scottish Women’s Premier League title with Rangers W.F.C. in 2021 and making 37 appearances for France’s FC Fleury 91 across two top-flight campaigns. A four-year starter and Academic All-Big Ten selection at Rutgers University, Swaby brings substantial top-level international experience to Vancouver’s backline, having earned 48 caps for Jamaica while starting every match during their historic 2019 and 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup runs.
